evening, by Home's English Comic Opera Company, who are certainly among the best that have visited our town for some time. The rain storm which prevailed prevented Manager Blondell from fulfilling his promise in regard to the balloon ascension advertised, as it was utterly impossible to inflate it in such weather, consequently that part of the programme was not carried out. The matinee in the afternoou did not attract such a large audience as wasexpected, which was due entirely to the disagreable weather. In the evening, however, the hall was filled to overflowing. The curtain rose for the first act showing a group of merry Scotch lads aud lasses attired in beautiful costumes assembled to test the charms of All Hallow Eve.

The programme was happily conceived aud all the parts admirably rendered. Indeed, this school may congratulate itself on more than sustaining its reputation for successful and novel entertainments. Too much praise cannot be awarded to the committee, who were so assiduous in their efforts to provide for the pleasure of both young and old.

The church was tastefully decorated, three Christmas trees, richly ornamented, occupying one comer of the room and so arranged as to give them the appearance of one tree.
