Class for the cadets were conducted by Cadet Captain Hugh non on "Military Drill." "Father Michael J. Gaydos, unit chaplain conducted a chaplain's talk while Joseph Mattavi, local Red Cross Chapter instructor in first aid, gave final tests in the Red Cross first aid course. A native of Pictou, Nova Scotia, he joined the Salvation Army in 1893 and served in India for 4 44 years before coming here in 1946.

Valley Playground Assn. Plans Project Biddy Basketball was adopted as the fall project of the Butler Township Playground Association at a special meeting called last night at the Consolidated School, Drums. President Robert Shearer said the organization hopes to have i its own Biddy League consisting of four teams. Children of the valley up to the age of 12 who are interested in playing on the teams are asked to attend the next meeting of the playground association, scheduled for Tuesday evening, October 4.
